When My Skin Started Speaking Louder

A personal story about rosacea, hidden imbalance, and finding calm from within
For years, I never really thought about my skin. It was just… fine. Something I didn’t have to manage. Then, around the time of Covid, that changed.
Whether it was the jab, perimenopause, stress, or a combination of them all — my skin suddenly became something I couldn’t ignore. The redness, the flare-ups, the sensitivity. Rosacea had arrived, and with it came frustration, self-consciousness, and a quiet loss of confidence.
I tried everything I was “supposed” to.I stripped out the usual triggers — coffee, alcohol, spicy food.I saw a doctor, invested in medical creams, cosmetic creams, and every kind of foundation that promised coverage. Nothing really changed.
Then, something interesting happened.
When we launched Big Shot in July, we started with a small founders group to gather feedback. Every batch sold out quickly, and I often gave away the bottles I’d set aside for myself so customers could try it. That meant I only ever got the odd bottle here and there — never enough to take it consistently.
By August, I’d finally increased our batch sizes and started taking Big Shot every day. And without really noticing it at first, my skin began to change.
In old videos, I could see the difference — the redness was fading, my complexion looked brighter, calmer, clearer. I wondered if it was coincidence, or maybe my skin just naturally settling.
But then a few weeks ago, as we started selling beyond the founders group, I ran out again. Within the first week of not taking it, my rosacea flared right back up. The redness. The blemishes. The heat.
And honestly, I missed my little daily ritual — that moment of doing something simple but powerful for my health.
That’s when it really struck me: I’ve never thought of myself as having gut issues — no bloating, discomfort, or obvious signs that something was off. But imbalance isn’t always loud. Sometimes it whispers until it finds another way to be heard.
For me, that whisper showed up on my skin.
Big Shot isn’t just about gut health — it’s about giving the body what it needs to restore balance from the inside out. The combination of wild fermentation and nutrient-dense microgreens works in harmony with the body’s own systems — calming inflammation, supporting resilience, and helping it do what it’s naturally designed to do: heal and rebalance.
Of course, this is just my own experience, but it’s made me think more deeply about how everything in the body is connected. The skin isn’t separate from the gut, or the immune system, or stress. It’s all one conversation — and sometimes, when we finally start listening, the body tells us exactly what it needs.
“When we nourish from within, the surface starts to tell a different story.”
For me, that story is one of reconnection — of learning to listen to my body and trust that supporting it with real food and natural balance is the way forward.
If your body’s been trying to tell you something lately — maybe it’s time to start listening. One small shot a day can be the beginning of something much bigger.
